Training & Abilities
- Easy to catch in the pasture and easy to halter.

- Lunges on a lunge line at walk and trot in both directions.
- Introduced to obstacles, trails, other arenas, shows, and parades.
- Saddles easily — bareback, western, and English.
- So relaxed during saddling he often falls asleep, even while ground tied.
- Light riding did awesome.
- Hasn’t been ridden often, but handled everything calmly and willingly.
- Takes dewormer and fly spray well.
- Introduced to line‑driving and continuing to expand his groundwork skills.
Care Needs & Behavior
- Because of his age and hoof sensitivity, boots are recommended for light riding
- Diet has made a big difference in his overall health and well‑being. He receives a very small handful of senior feed each day with his Cushing’s medication. This is the only way he reliably takes his pill — pill carriers and hidden treats have not worked — so he is watched while he eats to ensure he gets his medication. After that, he gets a scoop of alfalfa pellets, which he eats without issue, and a full flake of alfalfa that is usually divided into a morning and evening feeding.
Why This Horse is Amazing
Oliver Twist is one of those rare, genuinely easy horses — kind, safe, steady, and willing. He’s the type who stands quietly, loads easily, lets kids handle him, and takes new experiences in stride. He’s already been to shows, parades, obstacles, and multiple arenas, and he approaches everything with a calm, gentle attitude.

Although he hasn’t had a lot of riding, he has done beautifully with light walk/trot work. His sensitivity in his feet is easily managed with boots and diet.

Oliver Twist is a wonderful match for a family, a youth handler, or anyone wanting a sweet, safe horse to enjoy on the ground and lightly under saddle. He’s patient, kind, and trustworthy — the sort of horse kids can be around safely, and adults can enjoy without drama.
