Personality & Manners
- Sensitive, observant gelding who feels safest when other horses or people are nearby.
- Not pushy with feed or hay.
- Takes treats gently and enjoys being part of the activity around him.
- Likes geldings and does well with dogs, chickens, and cats.
- Becoming more confident with independent walks and standing tied on his own.
- Showing growing trust and patience.
- Comfortable around busy environments with horses and people working.
- Easily becomes buddy sour.
Training & Abilities
- Can be tough to catch but once caught he leads, loads, and stands for grooming.
- Hard to catch at times, but polite once he’s with you.
- Able to get all four feet done by the farrier.
- Learning to be ponied and progressing well in groundwork.
- Lunges and has been introduced to poles, backing, pivots, and body‑control exercises.
- Lightly ridden in open pasture at walk and light trot.
- Responsive under saddle — turns, backs, and stops easily.
- Does better in a hackamore than a bit.
- Has been ridden 5–6 times and does not need lunging beforehand.
- May pick up a little speed when turning toward the gate but slows easily when asked.
Care Needs & Behavior
- In the summer of 2026, he was diagnosed with some weakness in his fetlocks that could lead to DSLD in the future. His vet suggested light to moderate riding: no playdays, endurance, jumping, etc.
- He takes FOREVER to eat like an hour or more so being somewhere where he can be separated from others to eat may be best for him so he doesn't get pushed off his feed.
- Still developing topline and hind‑end strength.
Why This Horse is Amazing
Ozzy really wants a human of his own to go on adventures with. As a Paso Fino, he has a smooth and fun gait and would be a blast to take down the trail or to ride around your own property.
