Background
Ranger Woody’s previous owner adored him and made the difficult decision to donate him to Bluebonnet when she needed to downsize for a move. She knew he deserved a home where he’d continue to be spoiled, loved and appreciated, and felt the Training Challenge would give him the best chance to shine and find that perfect match. Before arriving, he enjoyed a relaxed life full of trail riding, camping trips, and beach adventures, always proving himself steady, kind, and willing. He was also used with handicapped students and did amazing with them.

- Not crazy about arena work; prefers trails and outdoor riding.
- Steady eddy trail horse; loves trail riding.
- Has been to the beach and camping.
- Lunges in round pen and on lunge line at walk and trot both directions.
- Ridden at walk and trot in round pen and arena; canters in open pasture.
- Introduced to obstacles.
- Ridden in western and English saddles.
- Ridden in a snaffle bit.
- Great with mares; gets along well in herd settings.
- Not fancy but extremely safe and dependable.
Care Needs & Behavior

Why This Horse is Amazing
Ranger Woody is the definition of a safe, steady, kid‑friendly partner — the kind of horse families dream about. He’s gentle, sweet, and loves attention, with a calm, dependable nature that makes him perfect for novice, children, or anyone wanting a trustworthy trail companion. Woody has been to the beach, camping, and out on countless trails, and he’s even worked with handicap students, where he excelled with patience and kindness.
He’s an easy keeper, great for grooming and the farrier, loads well, stands quietly, and has absolutely no buck, bite, kick, or rear. While he’s not fancy and doesn’t care much for arena work, he shines on the trail and loves being part of quiet outdoor adventures. Ranger Woody does have an old, stable hoof scar that requires a consistent trim schedule and front shoes for comfort, but he is not lame and does wonderfully with proper care. For someone wanting a safe, gentle, affectionate horse who is all “whoa” and very little “go,” Ranger Woody is an exceptional choice — a kind soul who will happily be a child’s best friend or a Novice’s confidence‑builder.
