Blackeyed Pea is a fortunate little horse who has known steady care and kindness. Her owner cherished her and the rest of the herd, giving them thoughtful, consistent handling. After her owner passed away following a brief battle with cancer, the family chose to entrust her to Bluebonnet so we could help her find a loving, secure future
Personality & Manners
- Shy at first and appreciates a little time to be caught in the pasture.
- Very well‑mannered and enjoys calm, steady handling.
- Gets along well with mini mares, geldings, and both large and small horses.
- Settles comfortably in the middle of the herd.
- Enjoys lounging around.
- Not buddy‑sour and stays relaxed even when others leave.
- Loves being spoiled, brushed, and having her hair braided.
Training & Abilities
- Easy to halter once caught and leads politely.
- Great for the farrier and stands calmly for baths.
- Loads well into the trailer.
- Learning how to lunge and gaining confidence with each session.
- Responds well to gentle, steady handling.
- Enjoys grooming time and stands nicely for brushing and braiding.
- Low‑key and easygoing, making her a relaxed partner for groundwork.
